Andrew's Broccoli Pie

Pastry
400 g white flour
100 g butter
1 tbsp salt
water to make a soft dough.

Knead this and use the dough to line a pie dish.

Filling
800 g broccoli or cauliflower, lightly cooked.

Sauce
1 l creme fraiche - the variety with high fat content does not "cut" in oven heat
2 cloves of garlic
1 pinch turmeric
salt to taste.

Add 1-2 tbsp flour to the sauce if you use cottage cheese or the creme fraiche has a tendence to go watery.



Mix the creme fraiche and seasonings in a blender and pour over the broccoli.

Bake at 200 C for app 40 min.

NOTE: You can use boiled onions cut in half, or other vegetables in the filling.
Also try using a white sauce (with cheese) instead of creme fraiche. Not as tasty, but cheaper.
